Panakam is one of the important neivadyam items for Ramanavami. This year Ramanavami falls on March 28th 2015. It is customary to make Panakam, Neermor, Kosumbari and Vada for neivedyam.
Panakam simple and easy to make drink that is a very good coolant as summer month approaches. This was the coco-cola and pepsi of that time, but a healthy one.
Ingredients: Method: Let it chill in the fridge for a cool drink.
Apple/Mango Pachadi
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Water – 1-2 cups (Adjust to the sweetness you want)
Dry ginger ( sukku podi) – 1 tsp
Cardamom – 1 nos ( crusherd)
Lemon juice – 4 to 5 drops
Salt – less than a pinch
1. Soak the jaggery in water and let it dissolve completely. Break the small pieces that deposit in the bottom.
2. Filter the impurities.
3. Add the crushed cardamom, dry ginger and salt and mix well.
4. Add the lemon juice at the end and mix well.
